RECAP OF LA JOLLA LETIP MEETING - 18 March 2005

Today's meeting was the "changing of the guard"...otherwise
out with the old board and in with the new board. No showboat
or speakers - the room was decorated with balloons and looked
very festive.

We did have one guest...guest of Mike (DJ)
Robert Jacquim of Skyriver. Wireless broadband communication specialists.


Actually we had three more guests...
Julie Tooley - wife of ex-president Mike Kilbride
Donna Anderson-St. Clair - wife of new president Prentice St. Clair
Pat Carney - President of LeTip International (more from him later)

Mike Kilbride presented various "achievement awards" to members and
committee members that have contributed to his success in 2004.
Yours truly received one - a nice clock (from Bruce Gilbert) with name
imprint.

Top tipper in 2004 - Jim Schraefel. 235 total tips, 77 outside!!!!!
Congratulations Jim......

Outstanding Achievement - Linda & Barry Gorin. Also 2nd in most tips.

Outstanding Achievement for new member - Gigi Noronah. High attendance
record, high tips...always in 2nd/3rd/4th place in many categories.

And a "three stooges" award...actually 3 sponge bob dunce caps for "yakking" during the meetings went to our Sgt of Arms - Ed McBee as well as Chip Wilson and Burt Guetz. Of course others in the club indicated a few others that should have been in that category - I will not mention names, one is a Dentist, a telecom installer, and a stock broker.

Pat Carney mentioned that due to our not following LeTip International by-laws he had the unfortunate duty to yank our chapter and dismiss both the old and new board members.

April Fools....But Mike was speechless for the first time in many years.

He did give two awards....the awards from LeTip International (the entire USA)!
First award - President of the Year to Mike Kilbride. Fabulous - way to go Mike!!!
Second award - Chapter of the Year to our chapter. Fabulous - way to go MEMBERS!!!

Deborah Johnston has resigned...nutrition spot is open!

Social is April 14...Vickie Nickerson has sent out various emails regarding this "bring a guest" event.

May 2 is a LeTip golf tournament put on by the North County chapter. See
